[Solved] My ClearFog CX LX2 won't boot (RAM not seated properly)

My LX2160 has been powered off for quite a while (as I have not had the equipment to build images).

Edit: it’s board rev 2.1 (and it used to boot back in 2022).

Yesterday I attempted to set it up again, writing an up-to-date image to the SD-card and trying to boot it.

However, it seems it doesn’t get very far in the boot-process; as far as I understand, it doesn’t look like U-Boot is run …

-I wonder if it could be the backup battery that ran out of power - or could it be something else ?

Edit2: I measured the battery voltage, it said 3.0V, so that would not be at fault.

So I took out the top RAM module and re-inserted it, and now the LX2 boots - and I’m happy again.

Solution was … Take out the RAM and insert it back in.

-So if the boot stops right after the DDR is detected, this is worth trying.

Of course, it’s probably also a good idea to check the battery voltage if the unit has been powered down for a long time (but the MuRata battery that Solid-Run provides is a good quality battery, so it should last for many years even without power).
