Despite a lot of googling and reading through documentation for cubox-i I have been unable to find where kernel cmdline parameters are defined for cubox-i?

The debian images use a boot.scr file to boot the system. They set some default bootargs there, additional bootargs can be set by adding them to the u-boot bootargs environment variable. The boot.scr script will pick those up and add them to the kernel commandline.
