LSDK21.08: prebuilt EDK2: kind of OK; prebuilt U-Boot: kind of OK

With prebuilt EDK2 image, it is possible to boot a stock Ubuntu 22.04 and the status is:

  • 1Gbps Ethernet, 10Gbps SFP in cage, USB, NVME fully working
  • Lots of errors on SATA (two different disks tested)
  • sdcard, emmc, not visible (I assume no drivers in stock Ubuntu but did not checked)

With prebuilt U-Boot image, it is possible to boot the prebuilt Ubuntu and the status is:

  • 1Gbps Ethernet, 10Gbps SFP in cage, USB fully working
  • errors reported by NVME drivers: NVME disabled (same issues stated in a topic in the forum)
  • rare (but still exist) error on SATA (two different disks tested)
  • dtb used is the honeycomb one (as this is a honeycomb carrier board)
  • sd-card and Emmc working properly if booting from either sd-card or emmc, not usable if system booted on SATA (dd’ed the prebuilt ubuntu core roottfs on the data disk)
  • there are issues with EFI subsystem (ubootefi.var format so I need to remove it via u-boot scripting)

Questions:

  • is SolidRun seeking SystemReady-IR certification ?
  • are there plans to make the pre-built U-Boot images run properly? If yes, I can share more details about the setup and the logs
