# Bedrock R7000 : access to the console

Hello,

I was wondering: what would be the correct procedure to get access to the console of a running Bedrock R7000 via the mini USB-B port?

I’ve plugged a proper USB cable between the R7000 and my Mac, and I can see that the UART is detected on the Mac side because 2 new devices are listed:

```auto
$ ls /dev/*usbserial*
/dev/cu.usbserial-DQ0 *****/dev/tty.usbserial-DQ0*****

```

Is I attempt a serial access using screen, I get a blank screen where interaction is impossible:

```auto
$ screen -L /dev/tty.usbserial-DQ0 **** 115200

```

Is there a BIOS setting I should tweak? Something else?
